Geocaching Harlan County - August 4th, 2012

After watering trees at camp all morning we decided
to take a drive after lunch.

First stop was this new Firefighters museum by the Arch in Kearney

It was free to see for a long time, but now
they charge $6.00 for adults.  So, we didn't
do the tour.

We needed these next five pictures at the
Great Platte River Arch to complete some geocaching things.

If you are ever traveling south to Hildreth
be sure to stop at the Jelden Rest Stop
Strange place.

It took a while but we did find the geocache here

One of six cemeteries we stopped at to get a geocache.

Mary is pointing at the geocache container.
It is called a Nano cache.  It actually has a
log sheet inside, but it is hard to roll up the tiny sheet
and get it back into the container.

Geocache at a cemetery.  Pill bottle band wrapped to
a tree branch.

Mural on the Playhouse wall in Republican City

We found the geocache at this stop broken and
scattered around on the ground so we replaced it.

Harlan County Reservoir from the Dam.

Arboretum at Harlan County Reservoir.  Mary had
to read every sign on every plant.

Small park in Alma.

Mary took a seed pod from this plant to try and grow.

Geocache by the Alma golf course.
