2016 Colorado Trip

This formation is called Elephant Rock.
We had to find this for a geocache.

Interesting rock formation along the highway

Surprised to find some geocachers from Grand Island at the
oldest geocache in Colorado.  West of Pikes Peak.

Mary was looking for Colorado rocks to take home

This is the South Platte River west of Pikes Peak
at 8300 feet elevation.

Quick lunch before heading to Pikes Peak

The entrance to Pikes Peak

Heading up the mountain.

Getting into the clouds

Looking down on the road we came up on

Clouds below us

In the clouds before getting to the summit

Historical marker at the summit

The geocaching event at the top.

The group on top.  The clouds were breaking up so we could see
down the mountain before we left.

Heading back down past a snow drift along the road

Jerry on the edge.
