June 15 - Geocaching Mahoney

Interesting Multi-cache at the Space Museum

This is the first clue to find the code to open the box

Air and Space Museum just outside Mahoney State Park

The second clue led us to this rocket
called the Blue Scout
"Blue" was the code needed to open the
geocache container lock.

An ammo can cache container east of
Mahoney along the interstate

Lots of goodies in the cache

Geocache site near Ashland.
Too many tall weeds.  We didn't find it.

Heading into the woods for another geocache

Found it!

Signing the log sheet and checking out the contents.

Mary spotted this geocache from the backseat of the truck

A geocache at another historical sign in Ashland

Another ammo can geocache along the hike bike trail
in Ashland

Moving on down the trail to the next cache

Mary:  "Do I have to go in there?"

Easter egg hunt

The log sheet is in one of those eggs

Mary was glad she hiked in to find this one.
Note:  It is in a blue egg.

A hide-a-key stuck to the bridge

Mary at the Holy Family Shrine

This little thing is called a "chirp"
It puts out a signal that the GPS picks up
and gives you the coordinates for the geocache

The chirp sent us to this old cemetery where the cache was

Geological site at Schram Park
We had to take pictures and answer questions
to complete an "Earth Cache"

  1. Strange things - a light house in NE, a geological site, a chirp, and a very creative easter egg cache. Cool! Thanks for posting!
