March 20, 2012 - Geocaching

Some new geocaches came up on
the internet after supper so
we went and found them.
Yep, the small film container cache was hidden in that mess.
And we actually found it!

First to find!

The second cache was much larger and easier to find.

Mary found it.
Platte River in the background.

First to find prize.

Second "first to find" of the evening.

Third cache was very hard to find.
It was hidden in a cedar tree.

Jerry in the cedar tree with a flashlight.

Third "first to find".
It was getting dark and we were 1/2 mile
from the truck.

We stopped and checked our Letterbox cache we
put out a couple of weeks ago.
It has had five geocache finders and this
letterbox stamp and note.

March 16, 2012 - Night Geocaching

A new geocache was published at 9 p.m.
So since it was still 70 degrees we decided
to go look for it.
It was a multi-cache which means you have to find
multiple caches to get to the final cache.
This was the first location with the coordinates
for the second location.

This was all there was in a pill bottle at the first location.
The coordinates and hint for the second location.
Jake figured out it is in a different format than
we usually use on our GPS units.

Jake with the new coordinates.

Mary looking for one of the multi-cache locations.
There were four on this one.

Mary with the final cache at 11:11 p.m.
Still 68 degrees.
Another "First to Find".

Jake found this geocache in the same wildlife management
area as the multi-cache.  Jerry+Mary had found it a while back.

March 6, 2012 - "Too nice out to work" geocaching morning

We took the morning off to go
grab a "First to Find" south of
Kearney and find a few more
on the way back home.

New geocache south of Kearney.

Mary spotted this one from the truck.

Another cemetery cache

And yet another cemetery
