August 26 & 27, 2011 - Geocaching Kearney

A "First to Find" at Meadowlark Park in Kearney

Can you see Jake hiking along the back fence?
He went after the far caches that Mary and I already found.

Libby found a cache without the long hike.

The bleachers overlook this BMX bike racing course
at Meadowlark Park.

We found this cache on a power pole along the Kearney
hike/bike trail just before sundown.

Very small cache in a small hole.

Same pole.
The hole is about two feet off the ground.

Jake and Libby at the Great Platter River Archway

Found a cache under this bridge Saturday morning.

Mary is getting lots of tomatoes from her plants.

Another world challenge is to take a scenic picture
of the sunset at a new location

Beaver Dam at Odessa Wildlife Management Area
West of Kearney

This area needed some new caches so we planted some

We wanted to plant a geocache at this Interstate rest area
west of Kearney but it was way too busy tonight.

August 22, 2011 - Geocaching Kearney

The plan for the evening was more mowing and watering trees
But, a new geocache was posted and we just had to go get it

Bag of rocks and rubber snake.

Out of all the treasures in the new cache we chose a rock

Long hike along bike trails

Full of great treasures

We left a couple thousand dollar bills

Mary's brother Jim graciously came and got us when we
locked the keys in the pickup

Who locked the keys in the truck?
Not me! says Mary

But we did find the last cache at the park before the sun
went down.
