March 20th - Geocaching in Hastings

First cache of the afternoon at a geocacher's office
in downtown Hastings.  Jake found it.
Mary was window shopping.

The cache container is a hollowed out bolt with log sheet inside.

The cache bolt before Jake screwed it back in.

Geocache Jake found by the old dog pound.

Libby found this geocache at Jackson's Car Corner.

We looked and looked but didn't find this geocache.
Jake texted a fellow cacher and he later replied that
we were on the wrong side of Burlington Avenue.

Libby found this small cache in a large tree at Brickyard Park.

The cache container is attached to a tree branch.

Glad Jake was along to get this one down from the tree.

Jake and Jerry climbed the hill at Brickyard Park to find
the cache under a park bench.

Mary found this cache full of treasures.

Another geocache hanging in a tree near Runza West.
Easy to find since there were no leaves on the tree.

Jake found the cache in the Chautauqua Pavilion.

Mary was not happy that Jerry walked on dead trees
to get across this flooded ditch to get the geocache by
the interstate Holiday Inn on the way home.

Another cache on the other side of the ditch.

Last geocache of the day.  Can you see it
tucked into the bottom of this old wood post?

March 19th - Geocaching

It took us a while to find this cache titled "windy"
You can see it in this picture Mary took before we found it.
Upper right corner hanging from a tree branch.

FTF = First to Find
We were the first to find this new cache.

We were the first to find this new cache at a new
Minden ballfield.  Nice sign.

We couldn't find this one.

Windy spot just east of Minden on a gravel road.

Jerry looking in the wrong place at the Kearney County
Museum in Minden.

One pine tree in a large open area at the Minden cemetery.

We picked up this toy with a trackable tag attached.
It was started by a 4th grade class in Grand Island.

This is an outdoor classroom behind the a Minden school.

Unique bench in front of the Courthouse.
Cache was underneath it.

Kearney County courthouse.

Cache was inside the sign.

Our favorite of the day at Liberty cemetery.
see next picture.

A small plastic tube that fit tightly in this sawed off
tree branch.   It was hard to find.

Our other favorite stop of the day.  Out in the middle of
nowhere is this large historical marker.

We hiked up the hill behind the marker to find
where the gravesite is supposed to be and
found the cache.
